Hello, my name is Dave, and welcome to my smartfittness website. I’ve been a fitness enthusiast for 35 years give or take. And over that time I’ve belonged to all types of Gyms and Health Clubs across the country. I’ve seen the industry change both with regard to the role of trainers and the equipment.
I’ve had numerous trainers over the years, and over time, have developed a workout routine that I’ve been able to stick with for years, because it’s both short, and has been able to evolve as I’ve gotten older. I want to share what I’ve learned over the last 35 years. Dispel some myths about what it takes to get in shape and stay in shape. And how you can accomplish this, in less than 4 to 5 hours a week, no matter how old you are, or what kinda shape you are in now.
I’ve always been an average athlete with an average body. I was not blessed to have the genetics to grow large muscles. And working a white collar job forty to fifty hours a week since graduating in 1974 never left a lot of free time to spend in a gym, even if I wanted to, which I didn’t.
I realized real early that in order for me to stick with a program two things were necessary. Any routine I did would have to be under an hour and it would have to be something I could look forward to doing, otherwise I would’nt. It had to cover all the major muscle groups, with the goal being muscle tone not muscle size.
Doing countless reps, with a slave master looking over me, wasn’t my idea of fun. So I developed a routine that was not only effective but quick and fairly enjoyable. That I could do easily by myself.
Why do I want to help people
I want to share with my fellow boomers how you can get muscle tone. Create and or maintain the body you want, without a trainer standing over you or feel like you killing yourself. Because I know this for sure, if we don’t make working out an enjoyable experience, we simply will not do it over the long term. No matter what anyone says.
The goal of this site
No matter what you age or shape, it’s not too late to start. By following some simple techniques and utilizing technology (hint the name), you will start to see results. You will realize that getting and staying in shape doesn’t have to be a full time job or something you dread. That it can be something that can easily be done in 4 or 5 hours a week.
So, for you boomers out there, that think it’s too late or too hard to get back into shape, I’m here to dispel those myths, and show you how you can do it and even have a little fun doing it.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
