How Important are Using Keywords in your Blogs

Keywords are not Obsolete

If your looking for a good home based business for baby boomers, you need to know about keywords. Despite what you may have heard about Keywords being obsolete, let me assure you that they are actually more important now than ever, what has changed is the way Google and the other major search engines track and interpret them.

Check out this training on the importance of keywords to SEO

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/7-seo-strategies-to-explode-your-rankings-in-2018/a_aid/e78a81fe

Today you have to look beyond the explicit, literal translation of a word and pick up on the implicit clues, to gain the true intent of how the keyword is being used. This is what the major search engines are doing and it’s why it’s even more important today, to have a search tool, that understands that it’s more than just the word it’s the intent.

Good Content is not Enough

I’ve been thinking about the importance of Keywords, ever since I started blogging, and there are a couple of ways to look at it. I’ve talked to Bloggers who never worry about Keywords, they insist that it’s all about content, and if you are writing good, informative content than people will find your posts. The thing that I’ve come to realize is that while content is Paramount, if the technology is there, and makes it possible to fine tune, the way you present your content, and it’s freely available, why not use it, it’s like a golfer never using a tee, he is just making the shot harder.

Keywords give better relevancy

The other thing to take into consideration is how it helps in optimizing you site. SEO is important to consider, when you’re starting a website, and Google and Bing etc, all love when you use popular searched Keywords and how you phrase them. They are interested in how relevant your sight is, and when you use Keywords within phrases, that are highly searched for, it’s obviously going to make your website that much more relevant, you generate traffic, and the chances of getting indexed by one of the major search engines are increased proportionally.

My Favorite Jaaxy

Backlinko.com recently wrote a blog, where they ranked the 15 best Keyword Research Tools of 2018. I was pleased to see that the Keyword Research Tool that I personally use was ranked #2.

Jaaxy has helped many Bloggers grow their business by 25-54% within six months. What makes Jaaxy unique is that it gives their users lots of different Keyword ideas, including some you won’t find in other tools. Plus you get helpful data on every keyword that it gives you, including competition, search volume and potential traffic.

But by far, peoples favorite feature is their QSR index. Quoted Search Result, is a fancy way of saying, how many other websites, are trying to rank with the exact same term? Obviously the lower this number the better chance you have of ranking #1.

I just happen to have a link where you can try the Jaaxy Search Tool for free. So check it out for your self, and tee up your Website, like the pros do.

The Cause of Addictions; The Bondage of Self

It Starts with your Beliefs

Depending on how functional or dysfunctional our childhoods where, we all develop some Narcissistic Beliefs, looking at the world from a me first perspective. If these beliefs are of an Ancillary nature, than most of us grow out of this form of Early Narcissism. But if the Narcissistic Beliefs are of a Fundamental nature, where we perceive the Universe outside ourselves as dangerous, hostile, confusing and un-nurturing, than the Narcissistic thinking becomes a habit and eventually starts to infect other fundamental aspects of our belief systems.

The Habitual Mind Takes your Beliefs and

If you are filled with anxiety, anger, depression, irritability and discontent and are having problems, forming normal fulfilling relationships, and have also developed an addiction to something, you might want to look at your belief systems. The Habitual Mind is hardwired to see only what it believes. The UN-Conscious mind is working 24/7 to manifest these beliefs into your life. It’s constantly looking, non-stop for validation, association and comparisons, that support the beliefs it holds. It does this year after year, for decades slowly grinding down our self-worth, self-confidence and self-trust.

As we internalize these dis-empowering beliefs we start to develop an emotional dependence upon them rather than becoming independent of them. We begin to believe that the world revolves us and we start to become trapped in the  “bondage of self”. If this is allowed to happen, than the Early Narcissism evolves into a Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). We unconsciously, internalized these dis-empowering beliefs, and without being aware of it, we pass them on to those around us. Some of the most obvious dis-empowering beliefs are.

  • That we have the power to control how others feel, this in turn reinforces the fear of rejection and disapproval we have towards others. Because of these fears, honesty usually takes a back seat to pleasing. We avoid dealing with conflicts and have problems forming true connections through intimacy or any real genuine feelings of love.
  • That rules are more important than our needs or people. Putting rules ahead of people and ourselves, elevates the importance of obedience and compliance, this leads to an over all lack of empathy, especially if you v’e broken any rules.

Our Beliefs Become Us

Once these beliefs are established, we become oblivious to them, if challenged we either are unwilling or unable to suffer the pain of even acknowledging, much less changing them. How can we give up our personality, these well-established patterns of behavior, developed over a lifetime. If anyone thinks they can’t, I’m here to tell you anyone can, if they are willing to do the work.

You Can Change Your Beliefs

It takes more than a desire, to change, it takes a strong will and the ability to take action. But if the pain of not changing has become strong enough, than there are resources, available to show anyone how.

  • First, we must realize how unmanageable our thinking has become.
  • Second, we must understand that our lives are the effects of that thinking, not the cause.
  • Third, that we have never been the victim.
  • Fourth, everything that has happened, needed to happen, to get us here.
  • Fifth, our character defects are only our beliefs in action.
  • Sixth, list out the defects in order of importance. It’s by looking at our character defects that we can begin to change.
  • Seven, pick a behavior and the dis-empowering belief behind it and stop doing it.

Change Them One At A Time

Remain aware of it and focus on it until it’s removed, than go to the next. A wholesale onslaught of all your defects will only lead you feeling overwhelmed and eventually so frustrated you’ll give up. Taking them one by one and watching how your life starts to change, will only encourage you to continue.

Because You Know You Don’t Know

Because we are willing to admit, that something is wrong with our thinking, there is still hope at affecting change, either individually or with group therapy. Experts agree, that Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a progressive mental illness. If left untreated it will progress into a more malevolent, vindictive and vengeful stage known as Malignant Narcissism, for which there is no cure. What they seem unwilling to agree upon is that NPD is much more common in society, and as I maintain, the root of almost all addictions.

I Was a Dry Drunk

Recovering from Addiction is easy, just quit, its how a majority of people do it. Of the estimated 14 million adult Americans who are deemed Alcoholic, less then 10 percent of them will be seeking help at any given time. Of those 10 percent, 70 percent won’t achieve lasting sobriety. Seventy percent of those who achieve sobriety in A.A. will relapse in five years. The relapse rate for one year are even higher. With this being said its safe to say that there are a lot of Dry Drunks walking among us, and for ten years I was one of them,. I want to tell you what that experience taught me.

What is a Dry Drunk

In doing research for this article I was struck about what I found when I Googled, Dry Drunk, every entry on the first page of Google was written by a Treatment Center, and I found the information to be either misleading, confusing or just plain wrong. In a lot of cases they just describe the symptoms that cause people to seek relief in the first place. A rehash of the reasons a person is driven to drink, not an explanation of what a Dry Drunk is. And in every post there is the underlying suspicion that what the article’s real intent is to sell you something.

So let me make this simple for everybody, a Dry Drunk is a person who attempts to get and stay sober without the help of a program. A “lone wolf”, convinced that a program has nothing to offer and that through sheer self will alone, they can beat this affliction of Mind and Body, commonly called an Addiction. That’s why you see a majority of people who have quit on their own and are supposedly “sober” are still not happy or satisfied with their lives. They are under the illusion, that just quitting their drug of choice is sufficient for recovery from a hopeless state of mind and body. Because they don’t know what they don’t know, they are unaware that the drug only masks, the real problem.

Thinking and Behaving Alcoholically without Drinking

Not being able to understand specifically, the first three steps of the 12 Step program, I decided that I could be a lone wolf and recover on my own. Though my life got better on a materialistic level, I didn’t get better. As a matter of fact, mentally and spiritually I got worse. I remained stuck in the “Bondage of Self”. Even without using, my drug of choice, I was constantly finding myself thinking and behaving alcoholically.

Simply quitting without looking into the causes of why your an Addict, is like an Ostrich burying its head in the sand, it might make you feel better, but its going to help you. At this point I didn’t even have a concept of the term “Bondage of Self”, and that’s a real big problem.

Recovery takes work

If your convinced you want to recover on your own, that’s fine millions have done it. We are all alone with our thoughts, and it’s by going inside your thoughts, that you can begin to fix, why you think the way you do. A.A. stresses that recovery is outside ourselves, that we are powerless, and that only through turning our life and our will over to a Higher Power can we hope to be healed. Lack of Power was my dilemma, and as long as I continued to believe in powerlessness I would be powerless. Our lives are the effect of our thinking, we must go inside, not outside ourselves. For its the beliefs, we hold inside, that have created our life outside.

You need to start your journey, for long term recovery and sobriety, by doing more than just quitting the drug. We need to get into the causes. Today its easier than its ever been to find people that have made the journey your embarking on. Realizing that our journey is not unique and that there are many ways in which you can reach our destination. But the journey, to any destination, takes action.

What Happens if you Do No Work

When I quit, I thought, that would be enough. What I found instead was that my dis-empowering beliefs only used my quitting to become stronger. Where I had been critical and judgmental of others who didn’t drink like me before, well now it included everyone. Looking down my nose, with contempt and disdain, “look I quit, why can’t you?”. Constantly watching each and every drink anyone took, sensitive to the slightest change in personality, judging peoples outsides by my insides. Feeling angry but superior at the same time.

Everyone of my character defects were being reinforced by my abstention. I developed a whole new level of martyrdom. Instead of feeling “less than” I constantly felt “more than”. Hyper sensitive and critical at the same time. Impatient with others, constantly complaining and lying the whole time about how I really felt. These habitual thoughts became my constant companions and I almost came to welcome them, like old friends.

Recovery Based on an Illusion

Unfocused will power is as damaging as no will power. To live in the “Bondage of Self” constantly feeding and congratulating my ego (my false self) about how strong and superior I was, to be able to quit on my own, with no help and without doing any work. A recovery based on illusion.

Living in this illusion for years, eventually lead to the creation of another illusion. Slowly with the help of my ego I began to convince my unconscious mind that I wasn’t even an Addict. That it had all been a mistake. Because of my unwillingness to do any work, to even attempt to look for the root causes of my irritability and discontent, my recovery was based on a foundation of sand.

How Much Work Does it Take

In the 30s low bottom drunks were taken through the steps in a matter of days, today that would seem to be impossible. The reason I bring this up, is that the work, of uncovering the root causes, of an addiction, don’t have to take a lifetime. Finding quality sobriety doesn’t have to entail going to meetings for the rest of your life. What it does entail, is a willingness to understand that its our beliefs about the Universe and ourselves, that are the root cause of our thinking. It’s empowering to believe we have the capacity to become unconsciously competent, to have the ability, to know what we know. To believe differently is dis-empowering, and creates a lack of power.

Recovering from Addiction

The Three Stages of Learning

  1. Unconsciously Incompetent; Don’t know what we don’t know
  2. Consciously Incompetent; Know we don’t know
  3. Unconsciously Competent; Know we know

These three stages coincide perfectly with three stages of Addiction

  1. Active Addiction; To be in your Addiction, where you don’t know, what you don’t know. Oblivious of what’s happening, totally convinced that everyone drinks the way you drink.
  2. In-Recovery; Know we don’t know, Only once the pain becomes greater than the pleasure do we even consider the possibility of quitting. We understand the concept of powerlessness over our drug of choice, but struggle with the idea of our lives being unmanageable, especially if we still have a job, a wife and a house. We know something is wrong but don’t know how to fix it.
  3. Recovered; Know we know, we understand the reasons behind the Addition and the compulsion to use has been lifted.

In AA circles it’s frowned upon to say your recovered, when introducing yourself, as if it’s presumptuous to think you can ever recover. They assume everybody is stuck in the consciously incompetent stage of learning and that to know you know, why you became an addict is out of reach. This is very dis-empowering.

A Journey with No Destination

To begin a journey of recovery with no destination, no possibility of reaching the end, is to be left constantly searching. Your criticized if you act as if your tiring, or complain about the journey with no end. After a while you begin to wonder if this is a journey you want to take.

It’s natural and Human to think that a destination is not only possible but probable. A journey with not destination makes no sense. While you may enjoy the journey it’s in reaching your destination, that is cause for celebration You rejoice in reaching your goal and look forward to the next journey.

Recovery should feel like a journey of enlightenment, a joyful adventure, taking with others, that reaches it’s desired goal. Not a lifelong “trudge” to a nebulous and vague happy destiny.

It’s an Insult

I believe we are designed to be able to reach the third level of learning. To know we know, the reasons behind our addictions. That our Minds designed in the likeness of our creator has the power to find the answer to any riddle. To not believe this is to hold a dis-empowering belief about the capabilities God gave us. And an insult to the one that made us.

Solving the Riddle

Man is slowly solving the Riddles of the Universe. Great thinkers and Philosophers through the ages keep repeating one constant theme, and that is, Mans ability to Manifest in the Universe anything he desires, as long as he truly believes. In order for this to happen he first has to believe he is deserving. So many of us fail to manifest a life we have dream t about because we believe what somebody told us, instead of what history has shown us. Either intentionally or unintentionally we are told that we are either not good enough, or smart enough or deserving enough, to manifest our dreams. Because we believed these people and trusted them, and saw it in their lives, we came to believe it. How can anyone designed in the Image of our creator be undeserving?

In addition to believing that we are deserving, we also must believe that the Universe will provide. We must believe in an abundant Universe, designed for one purpose, to grow man. The Universe just like a fertile field has no choice in what it will or will not grow. The Universe knows nothing about scarcity, it provides in abundance whatever we plant. So even a person who believes they are deserving but plants only negativity and disharmony, will reap it in abundance. It’s the Law of Nature, you reap what you sow.

And finally we need and understanding of our Free Will and the Will of God. We have the freedom to believe whatever we choose to believe. We were not designed to be robots. To believe anything that dis-empowers man is not the correct use of our will. As far as God’s Will for Man, if he designed us in his image, and placed us in a Universe perfectly designed to Grow man, then it only follows that his Will for us is to be happy and prosper. God only sees good, if bad exists it because good, didn’t believe it was good.

It Comes Down To Your Beliefs

It all comes down to our beliefs. The more we focus on the dis-empowering aspects of how we got them, or who’s responsible the more strength we give them. What’s important is the realization that those beliefs are there and that they are not serving us. We must Learn what our true beliefs are. We must know we know that our beliefs are based on empowering principals, and once we know that, we are ready to embark on a new journey.

It’s dis-empowering to believe that we can never know. Life is a journey and to be considered a journey must have a destination, without one it’s only a wandering. Nobody ever said “enjoy wandering”. With beliefs firmly established in empowering principals we begin to realize, that everything that has happened on our journey we call life, needed to happen in order for us to get here. What do you want for your next destination?

Addiction is a Mental Illness

It Starts with a Belief

Ever wonder why your addicted. Stop focusing on the behaviors and start looking at the causes. The cause for all our behaviors are our beliefs. Beliefs you might not even realize you have.

Then a Behavior

Insanity is engaging in the same behavior, and expecting a different result. Your a complainer because sub-consciously you believe that complaining helps solve problems. You criticize because sub-consciously you believe it makes you feel better about yourself. Your impatient because you believe that being impatient resolves issues quicker. Your dis-empowering beliefs are the cause, and your unmanageable life is the effect. Your irritable and discontent because of this feeling of un-manageability and you seek relief.

That Makes You Miserable

Anything that will help you forget, even for a little while, this feeling, of being discontented with self. Always thinking about me, me, me. This belief that the world revolves around us, creates an endless need to be accepted and cared for by others. In more severe it can cause us to feel that we are not lovable or valuable and that we don’t really belong. We don’t feel safe being our authentic self, so we create a false self, and the fear of this false self being found out, leads to more and more elaborate lies and myth building about who we really are

It Gets Worse

As, we work harder to sustain these myths we become neurotic about being found out. This neurosis further helps establish the dis-empowering beliefs systems with regard to how we interact with the world. So in addition to being a critical, impatient, complainer we become arrogant, bossy, aggressive. We know the innate truth and it makes us angry, and discontent.

As we live with these dis-empowering beliefs, as we continue to dishonor ourselves, and permit others to dishonor us, our unexpressed anger grows. As this anger grows, eventually it explodes, usually over a minor thing, and we lash out, hurting our loved ones causing remorse or we implode, getting angry with ourselves, causing depression, or we do both. We are taught to lie in order to belong. We learn to pretend, to be different from who we actually are, to fit in, belong, to feel safe, to survive, it’s all a lie. Adults talk about being honest, and we see them lie all the time.

We Deny It

We learn denial, the ability to distract ourselves and shut down what we need and want. We deny what we observe or know to be true about others. We create fantasies of how we wish things could be, at the same time making excuses, to do nothing that would change the situation. The more we deny the less we heal, the more we lie to ourselves, the further we get from our true selves. Honesty becomes our biggest challenge.

The Way Out

In order to break ” the bondage of self “, we have to start at our spiritual center. We have to examine our belief about the Universe. The belief that the Universe is evil is a lie. We must realize that there is no such thing as evil. That it is only wrong thinking that leads to evil. We were made in the image of our Creator and his will for us is to be happy and prosper. The Universe was created specially to grow man. And like the soil will grow whatever is planted, it’s neutral, it only grows. If, we continue to plant dis-empowering beliefs we shouldn’t be surprised what we reap a lack of power in our lives. It’s simple cause and effect.

12 Steps

The 12 Step program of recovery has been around since the 30s. Following the steps allows a transmutation to occur in your thinking. You come to the realization that instead of being the victim in your life, you can be the hero, and it’s simply a choice, that you can make.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder

A Narcissistic Personality Disorder creates a belief system that only sees the world through the eyes of your ego. It creates a reality based on lies, which leaves us feeling isolated and alone. The feelings of irritability and discontent are the effects of Narcissistic thinking. The main problem with the Narcissist is that they are trapped in the bondage of self. It’s my BELIEF that Narcissistic Personality Disorder is not the rare psychological condition that some would like us to believe, but that it’s the root cause of most additions today.

I Know What I Know

According to Martha Beck in her book ” Finding Your Way in a Wild New World”, in order to be a genius at anything, it takes 10,000 hours of deep practice. Following that criteria then I’m a genius when it comes to Alcoholism. I’ve earned my seat and I know what I know. Today I’m more convinced the ever, that lurking beneath every addiction is a Narcissistic Personality Disorder. When we start addressing this Disorder head on, is when we will start seeing recovery rates climb.

Another Lie

To say that this condition is rare and that people can’t recover from a seemingly hopeless case of mind and body, is to nurture a dis-empowering belief, usually for financial gain.

Baby Boomers get Smarter as they age

Most Baby Boomers have an irrational fear of Dementia, most of us would be devastated to find even mild Brain damage, thinking it as a harbinger of Alzheimers Disease.

Why we Don’t Scan the Brain

Why has the Medical Establishment promoted Colonoscopy and Prostate testing, while ignoring Brain Scans? Especially when you consider that Brain Scans are much less invasive to the body and that incidences of Dementia rivals and often exceeds the incidences of these other afflictions.

  1. The first dis-empowering belief is a hold over of the old Cartesian Mind-Body Dualism Theory, that the Mind is not of the Body.
  2. The other dis-empowering belief that is still prevalent, that nothing could be done if a problem was found.

Both these beliefs are wrong, Medicine has refuted the Cartesian Theory, proving that the Mind is of the Brain, and thus of the body, and with the recent and rapid advent of various pharmacological and non pharmacological ways of treating and protecting the Brain against decay, the idea that nothing can be done, is also false.

Neurotic Fear of Aging

I believe that it’s Neurotic response to aging. There is a Denial and even a refusal, to even consider, that anything could be wrong. This anxiety is especially keen with Baby Boomers, who are being constantly bombarded with the Medias preoccupation with so called Alzheimer Epidemic.

Another dis-empowering belief that has gained traction is that we are doomed, and that our Minds become weaker and slower, as we age, and that decreased Brain function is not only probable but inevitable. This kinda of Group Think is wrong and needs to be replaced with a more empowering and accurate belief. While it’s true that our Minds change as we age, it’s become the opinion of many, that this change is for the better and not the worst.

The Wisdom Paradox

Elkhonen Goldberg, in his book “The Wisdom Paradox; How our mind can grow stronger as your brain grows older”, goes into great detail about the Brain and it’s relationship with the Mind. This world-renowned neuropsychologist, in lively and very accessible prose, outlines how the elegant structure of our brains develop and change over the course of a lifetime.

He talks about how, as we age we develop a “cognitive expertise”, a gradual transition from “hardwired” to a more open-ended, open-minded design. This design gives Boomers, the neural capacity for processing complexity of any kind and filling it with content. We recognize this as expertise.

He goes on to say, that this seemingly effortless ability to “see through things”, and that depending on the context and complexity is seen as competence and in rare cases wisdom. He states, ” that this ability does not come by itself as an epiphany of maturity, or as an entitlement to old age, but is the condensation of mental activities across years and decades of life”.

The scope and quality of ones mental lifetime, shapes the quality of its final stages. The importance of working the Mind especially once we reach our sixties can’t be over stated. To just turn off and enter a period of repeated “groundhog days”,watching TV and going to Dr. appointments, is doing a disservice to yourself and world.

Wisdom Begins in Wonder

The quote above by Socrates is more true today than ever. Regardless of age one must continue to test ones mind, and strive for new mental challenges. You’ve spent a lifetime building a social network. Sometimes by accident of birth and place of residence and sometimes on purpose making friends and business contacts. So many people today go to their deaths never utilizing the network they spent a lifetime building. So many people, sit around worrying that their going to outlive their money, and all the bad things that are going to befall them. Without ever realizing that they have a large untapped social network, that could be monetized, if only they could tap into it some way.

A Thinkers High

Many of us have heard of a “runners high”, well if you strive for new mental challenges, opportunities, or goals no matter your age you could experience a ” thinkers high”. A flash of cognitive expertise when you go Aha! “this is just like that”.

What if there was a company, that provided any person (novice or expert), the tools, to used to promote any product, and teaches you how to do it, for free. You don’t have to make sales calls, distribute products or do any customer support. Everything is handled for you. It’s proven to be a great source of income for thousands and could be a second stream of income for you. Or even just a chance to do something and build something to help others. What if that were possible? To be able to offer your network, a product that could help them, and at the same time help you, stop worrying about outliving your money? If you’ve been looking for a way to help others while helping yourself check this out.https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com?a_aid=e78a81fe

Can Baby Boomers Change their Beliefs?

It’s Time to Re-evaluate

Once you reach a certain age it’s natural to go through a period of re-evaluation. We look back and wonder how’d I get here, and now that I’m here where am I going? I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately in a book be Ernest Holmes, “The Science of the Mind”, I came across the term “cause and effect”, Holmes basically said that the” cause” is our thoughts and the “effect” is our life. Digging deeper my thoughts were only the effects of my beliefs. If you dissatisfied with the life you have, it’s because of the beliefs you hold. It became clear to me that if I wanted to change my life I had to start with my beliefs. This has turned out to be easier said than done.

If I really wanted to change these beliefs, I had to find out where they have been hiding. As I started to research this, I’ve come to find that there is a lot of differing opinions about our Minds and how it works and that this debate has been the subject of Philosophers for ever, and our understanding of what Consciousness is still just now being understood. I’m going to try to summarize what I’ve come up with, and see if this makes any sense to you.

Where are our Beliefs Held?

Most “experts” agree that the mind is basically divided into two parts, This Duelists approach see the mind having an unconscious subjective side and a conscious objective side. Now to complicate this debate physicists have come to believe that the Universe, matter as we know it, is really just energy, each element vibrating at different frequencies, these vibrations are received in the Mind thru neutral receptors and arranged into intelligent formations. These formations are our perceptions and they are stored in the mind. These perceptions are stored in the mind first in the part of the mind concerned with the now( the conscious side) and later moved to (the unconscious side) that is concerned with the past.

The experts theorize that the unconscious part of the mind takes up 87% of available capacity. What’s interesting about this subjective part of the mind is that it’s not interested if a thought is true or false, it’s just there. The conscious side of the mind the objective side being a lot smaller doesn’t have the room to store all this information. so once a thought is perceived in the conscious mind it goes through a process of reticular activation, where the mind works 24/7 looking for examples to either support or deny the validity of the thought. Depending on the input it forms patterns of formation which in turn become habits and beliefs and eventually they are moved to the unconscious to make room for things in the now. Once a habit or belief is moved to the subjective side of the mind it’s no longer concerned if it’s true of false it just is.

How Beliefs are Formed

To give you an example of this process, say your a young child between the age of birth to 8 years old, and your conscious mind sees a situation where complaining works to get what someone wants. Through the process of reticular activation the mind starts looking for patterns to prove and reaffirm what the conscious mind saw. If the child s environment is filled with a lot of complaining this thought pattern (complaining works) becomes a habitual thought and eventually a belief, and gets filed away in the memory of the subjective mind, which is not concerned whether it’s true or not. The child is totally unconscious of this happening. But the habit of complaining about things is now a part of his behavior, because subconsciously he believes it works.

Fundamental and Ancillary Beliefs

We form beliefs about everything, it’s important to recognize that It’s the scope of the belief that’s important Is it a fundamental belief or an ancillary belief? There is a big difference in believing Lima beans are bad (ancillary belief) versus believing vegetables are bad (fundamental belief) It’s possible to have a good life with some dis-empowering beliefs as long as they are ancillary beliefs. It’s even possible to have a good life if some of your dis-empowering beliefs are fundamental as long as they are balanced with some powerful fundamental beliefs

. Another example, there is a big difference in believing a certain man can’t be trusted versus believing people can’t be trusted. This person may attain an overall sense of belonging and even a sort of happiness dealing with others but the chances of this person having a happy life are highly reduced simply because of this one belief. Look at the difference, believing I can’t change versus people don’t change easily, would have on a person. They would have no problem in believing others could change but when it came to them personally they would constantly be presented with situations that would reinforce their belief that they can’t change. When challenged, that they are resistant to change, they will hide behind a mask and lie saying that’s not true, when in reality they subconsciously believe it.

We Can Change

The good news is that we can change, and it starts with awareness. Realizing that it’s the dis-empowering beliefs that are the cause. The neutral universe will only grow what is planted no more no less. Think back to a time when you only had a phone in your house and if you weren’t home you missed the call. Remember when the first message machines came out and we could review the call we had missed. And now think what you would do if you left your cell phone at home.

The Mind of God

The
mind of God, which is in us all, takes the beliefs we hold and
manifest’s them into our lives., Medicine can’t explain it but
spiritualists down through the ages have spoken about it, written about
it and have believed in it. You can choose to believe it or not it’s
your choice. Long term personal growth must include the encouragement to
think for ourselves, challenge long held beliefs that haven’t served us
and establish new beliefs. I believe we are our own Higher Power, the
kingdom of heaven lies within us. Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad and Allah they
all lie within us. They are all actually aspects of us. We have it in
ourselves to create the world of our dreams. Fear (ego) is terrified
that we might learn this and continues to tell us that our nature is
sinful. By keeping us focused on the outside we never connect with our
inside, our Higher Self.

Why Baby Boomers are not retiring

Lived a Mediocre Life

There are any number of reasons, that Baby Boomers are not retiring when they could, and it doesn’t have anything to do with fear of out living our money. It’s a fear that you might die with your dream still inside you. Ever have that feeling that you lived a mediocre life? A life that just moved along with you in it. Think back and you probably had no idea that you would spend a large part of your life, doing what you did.

Found your Career by Luck

I read somewhere, that 75% of men, find, what turns out to be their career job, simply by luck. Being in the right or wrong place at the right or wrong time. No planning, no thought out career search, just plan old luck. And in most cases because it was easy and paid decen(or at least what you’d accept), you ended up staying there for 10,20 and maybe 30 years. The years just kinda moved along taking you with them.

Resist Change

We are all creatures of habit, and we all resist change. In a lot of cases change is either forced on us or the pain of not changing gets so bad that we have to change. But we don’t really like it. What’s behind it, fear, of the unknown, but basically it’s fear of ourselves. That we won’t make the right decision or trusting any decision we might make. And where did this fear come from? It came from your parents, who quite by accident planted the ideas in your mind, that your not lucky, and that it’s who you know, not what you know, to accept the status quo, don’t rock the boat, be happy with what you got, and the most devastating one, your not smart enough. These ideas, as innocent as they were, when first broached, over time, have become beliefs. Beliefs that you might not even be aware that you carry, until now.

What About the Dream

So now your retired, from that mediocre career, and the thought crosses your mind what now? And the longer you sit around doing nothing, the stronger the feeling gets, that there has to be more to life them this. But you can’t figure out what you want to do next. If your in that position you might want to take a look at your beliefs. You know those nice warm beliefs, youv’e been holding forever. Their like old friends you wouldn’t think of giving up. Well lets review some of these old friends and see if they are really serving us.

Belief; Nobody cares what I think or would be Interested.

I firmly believe that everyone has a best-selling book, hidden inside them. The idea that nobody would be interested in your story is a dis-empowering belief, that only you are holding. We watch TV everyday filled with stories that people, just like us, have made up, and half the time we think it’s crap. We watch the talking heads and wonder to ourselves or out loud, how in the world did that person get on TV ? Well the reason we are watching, them is that they believed they could do it.

Experts say that creativity is contained within the dark side of our personalities. Use the fear and judgment to fuel your creativity. Let your fears bring out the story your’e always wanted to tell. Allow yourself to be vulnerable, it’s what people want. Aren’t you tired of the same old sequel or a rehash of the same old theme over and over? Today more them ever before book publishers are looking for original content. They are so desperate, that they will even publish a book for free. The means of achieving this are becoming more accessible by the day.

Belief; I Don’t know how

The qualities that people are looking for today are stories that are authentic, unique and real with honesty and vulnerability. If they also include a desire to help or inform, them you have a winning combination. People are fed up with being marketed to by hip slick Madison avenue ad agencies that push out the same rehashed shit year after year.

Today, individuals have the ability of getting information in front of millions of people. This personal mass media power was only available to corporations and the well-connected just a decade ago. Now we all carry access to millions in our pants pocket or purse. The cell phone with its access to the internet gives you mass media power unthought of 10 years ago. It fills me with wonder and jealousy, what the next 10 or 20 years will bring.

Belief; I’m not Smart Enough

Knowledge has never been more accessible. With access to the internet you can literally tap into resources unimaginable even 10 years ago. You have the time, your retired right. Find that niche, something your passionate about and start telling the world about it, just like you’d tell a friend. The funny thing about becoming a best-selling author is that the more obscure the topic, the easier it is to become a best-seller. Becoming a best-seller, immediately gives you credibility in your niche, and with credibility comes traffic.

Belief; It sounds like a lot of Work

Finding a niche your passionate about, takes the word work out of the equation, and replaces it with play. Alan Watts said that the goal of every man should be to find a way to get paid to play. To immerse yourself in a passion, to look forward to bringing it into reality step by step, to imagine and them create, is truly what we were meant to do.

Conclusion

If this sounds simple it is, I write in a simple style, because I’m not a professional writer. I’m a Boomer just like you, that believes that the universe was designed to grow man. It can’t help but grow whatever you plant, just like fertile soil, if you plant a seed it grows it, it doesn’t have a choice. We were given the choice to decide what we plant. Philosophers throughout history all say the same thing, “as man believes so shall he be”.

Evaluate some beliefs you’re holding, beliefs that were handed down to you by your parents, always believing that they did the best they could with the tools they had. If you believe that you’re deserving of only a little happiness and a little prosperity, them that’s what the universe will provide. It’s a simple matter of cause and effect. Your beliefs (thoughts) are the cause and your life is the effect.

Scarcity and limitation was not our creators intent for us. God’s will was always that man be happy and prosper. If your not happy and dreading the next 10 or 20 years, them you have allowed some dis-empowering thoughts to creep into your mind. It’s not important, how they got there, what is important is being aware they are there. Use them as fuel to power you into self actualization, as Maslow said “once you think you can, you must.

I’m developing this Website specifically for Boomers like me, to discuss and analyze any number of the dis-empowering beliefs that we have latched on to, and to pull them out by there roots.

As always, thanks for visiting. Dave

Forgive College Loans

When Education became Big Business

In the 60s a belief started to form that a blue collar job was bad and if you wanted to get ahead in society you had to have a white collar job, and you needed a college degree, in order to get it. As this belief started to spread you started to see more and more high schools eliminating there technical training classes and replacing them with college prep classes.

Slowly the perception started that tech classes where for the slow minded and kids started to look down at classes like auto tech or woodworking tech. As interest in these classes diminished, they slowly started to disappear in high schools across the country. Denying millions of kids, who would have been more than happy, learning the basics of a trade, out in the cold

Big Finance saw an Opportunity

With the changes in 65 by the Johnson Administration, Student Loans became Federally backed and made available to everybody, no matter what the families income. This played right into the hands of Big finance, who took advantage of this dis-empowering belief, and with there unlimited advertising muscle, and the control of Congress have been able to turn millions into Debt Slaves.

Why has the Cost of College Skyrocketed

Colleges and Universities have been and still are prime supporters of this dis-empowering belief for obvious reasons, the business of Education has become big business, as the tremendous rise in Tuition will attest. The rapid rise in tuition is directly linked to the easy access to loan monies, they have been co-conspiritors with big Finance and have been more than happy to see families and young people go into great debt, without remorse.

They are lying to us

It can no longer be said, if it ever was, that Colleges and Universities teach the critical thinking skills that people need to get ahead in society. These skills are inherent in everyone and only need enlightened guidance and good practices to bring them out. These same colleges and Universities are guilty of false advertising and have not fulfilled there obligations, they have become bastions of elitists, that talk diversity through the sides of there mouths. They stifle free speech and can not tolerate anyone that doesn’t hold there exalted views of themselves.

Student Loan defaults at all time high

Even now Student Loan defaults are at an all time high and rising. Isn’t it interesting also that it’s one obligation that can’t be dismissed through bankruptcy. The Government should do something for the millions who have fallen into arrears and do something about the inflated cost of higher education period. A market adjustment need to happen. We saw it with the Stock Market, Banks and Real Estate. Something needs to be done for the millions of families who suffer under the hardship of loans they will never be able to repay.

Big Business calls the shots

Why is Government always willing to bail out big Finance and do nothing for the average citizen? Our whole foreign Policy is based on what’s good for big Business. We spend Trillions in the Middle East while ignoring our own infrastructure and our own citizens. To many politicians are looking to capitalize on there relations with big business.

Education for the benefit of educators not students

And nothing will change until people start getting mad enough and demand that Higher Education in America is not for the advancement of the students, it’s for the advancement of Education, for the school administrators and the faculty. And especially for the benefit of big Finance, that sit’s there rubbing there hands like the proverbial “Fagan” in Dickens, asking how much do they owe us now.

Conclusion

I’ve asked a lot of people why they think the cost of a College education has gotten so expensive, and most people don’t have the foggiest idea. It’s because of the liberal access to loans that you can’t get out, of even by declaring bankruptcy. Anyone looking at College Campuses today can plainly see that the last thing they are interested in is the students. They are only interested in there own self-interest. Big Education is Big Business and something has to change.

We must realize that a College Diploma does not guarantee success today or in the future. It’s only important to Big Finance, and is a dis-empowering belief that’s being pushed by Big Finance and Big Education. An empowering belief is that there are other avenues available, and it’s not worth turning you and your family into Debt Slaves for life.

Big Education is quickly pricing themselves into irrelevancy and I’m happy to bring it to your attention

As always thanks for visiting, Dave
