Breaking Bad Habits: The Number One Bad Habit

What is a habit? The basic definition is that it’s a more or less fixed way of thinking, willing or feeling, acquired through the repetition of a mental experience, that becomes imprinted in your neural pathway. Every habit forms a mental loop, that includes a cue, a routine and a reward.

 

Don’t Compromise Yourself

If you have developed the habit of negative self-talk, ask yourself whether that dialogue is getting you closer to what you really want or not. Our world needs participants, not passengers. If your nervous and fearful about life, and your negative self-talk shows this you are compromising yourself.

The Mind See What It Belives

It’s only through research, quieting the mind, and being aware, that we begin to see that we are the only ones limiting ourselves, from achieving everything we want in life. We become aware of these dis-empowering beliefs, (by listening to our own self talk) and start to realize that our minds, are filtering our life experiences to support these false beliefs.

The Scripts In Our Heads

We need to realize that everybody is nervous about different aspects of life.Successful people have learned to overcome their nervousness, their doubts,  because they have developed empowering self talk. The scripts they play in their heads over and over are not of lack and scarcity but affirmations of strength and perseverance and faith in themselves.

Chang Fear Into Excitement

Everybody has self-doubt ; everybody has fear; everybody has anxiety. But through developing and holding empowering self talk, you learn to overcome those thoughts.You can change fear into excitement.

Don’t Cheat Yourself

If we passively accept the excuses of our own negative self-talk, if we let the script play unchallenged, we cheat ourselves and everyone else in our lives. Be willing to step away from the worn path of mediocrity and corporate conformism.

Become Aware

Once you become aware of the script in your head, you sensitize yourself to it, and every time you hear it start to play, you replace it with a positive script. Soon the script, “I’m a loser and don’t deserve success”, is replaced with “If I do my best I’l succeed and be valued”

The Law Of Cause And Effect

We realize that our divine mind, follows the natural and unchangeable law of cause and effect. We come to realize that we are engaged with a never ending real time conversation with ourselves.We realize that the habit of self talk has immediate and concrete consequences, it’s the cause. If the self talk is positive we are energized and strong and the world is open to possibilities. If the self talk is negative, you feel it, even to the level of the cells in your body. Your self talk comprises and reflects your personal truth. With everything you feel say and do, that contaminated self image will show itself as you present it to the world. The effect, is that the world will respond accordingly.
