Watch What You Believe

Who Told you that?

What is a belief and how do we come to
believe? Often it can be a ridiculous comment or something you read,
that resonates with something in your subconscious mind. If you want to
start evaluating some of your beliefs, look at your behaviors.

Look at your Behaviors.

If your impatient, it’s because you believe it will help you get what
you want sooner. If you complain, it’s because you believe it helps you
feel better about things you can’t change. If your defiant, it’s because
you believe it works to solve problems. If your a critic, it’s because
you believe you need to compare yourself to others. If your envious,
it’s because you believe what you have is not enough. If your jealous
it’s because you don’t believe in love.

Do you believe these lies?

  • You can see the Great Wall of China from space.
  • Older elephants near death don’t go off searching for the elephant graveyard.
  • Bulls are not enraged by the color red.
  • Dogs don’t sweat by salivating.
  • Lemmings don’t engage in mass suicide.
  • Bats are not blind.
  • Ostriches don’t stick their head in the sand when frightened.
  • Earthworms don’t become two when cut in half.
  • House flies live 20 to 30 days not 24 hours.
  • Poinsettias are not toxic to humans or cats.
  • Computers running Mac are not immune to malware.
  • Waking sleepwalkers doesn’t harm them.
  • Eating less than an hour before swimming doesn’t increase your chances of drowning.
  • Shaving doesn’t cause hair to grow back thicker.
  • Hair and nails don’t continue to grow after death.
  • Sugar does not cause hyperactivity.
  • Alcohol does not kill brain cells.
  • Obesity is not related to a slower metabolism.
  • Sex before a sporting event is not detrimental to performance.
  • Vaccines do not cause autism.
  • People do not use only 10% of their brain.
  • Stress plays a minor role in hypertension.
  • Diamonds are not formed from compressed coal.

Conclusion:

A lot of what we believe is wrong, especially when it comes to what we
think about ourselves. Once you become aware that a lot of what you
believe is wrong, you can start to change the belief. But awareness come
first, and often times it never comes at all. If you’ve become aware
that some of what you believe is wrong, you’ve been given a gift. The
gift of self-awareness is precious and can open the door to a whole new
you. It’s your choice if you walk through or not.

As always, thanks for visiting. Dave

Strength Training for Seniors; It’ All Mental

Attractor Patterns

When we talk about starting a fitness routine for seniors, we have to realize that its as much mental as it is physical. This awareness is key, and will ensure you success, as you embark on this path back to fitness. Being aware that the mind forms beliefs based on patterns that its formed from information that its been bombarded by from the outside world. These patterns are usually what the majority of people believe, and are often wrong.

The Habitual Mind

Our Minds are thinking machines, they never stop thinking 24/7, and what a lot of people have come to realize is that 85-90% of our thought are repetitive and often problematic. Once, Mind has accepted an Attractor Pattern of ideas it will keep thinking about them repetitively until it eventually becomes a belief. For instance how many times have you heard the statement, ” in order to be successful in society today you need a College Education”. Enough times that for a majority of people, this has become a belief. But its a dis-empowering belief that has caused whole generations of people to become Debt Slaves to Big Finance by chasing this false belief, that a College Education will get them success in society today, its simply is not true

Getting Fit is Hard Work is a False Belief

The idea that getting fit is hard work is an Attractor Pattern created by The Fitness Industry. They have a vested Interest that you believe this, in order to justify their existence. It’s ludicrous that we believe its appropriate to pay someone (a trainer) a $100.00 an hour to watch us workout and maybe give us some advice and encouragement while we do it. The whole supplemental and vitamin industry is built on claims that have been proven false time and time again. It’s all been designed and marketed by the Fitness Industry to make money.

Past Failures

Buying into to these false beliefs has caused millions of people especially Boomers, to become disillusioned with the idea that they can get fit. Not being able to relate with a routine, designed by a trainer who is usually in their 20s or 30s and who has their own ideas on what it takes to get physically fit has caused, people to just give up, thinking that its just too hard and certainly not fun to get into shape.

Getting Fit Is Easy and Fun

I’ve developed a routine that’s easy and fun. That can be done in under an hour and if you just consistent doing it every other day or three times a week you’ll be amazed at how fast you’ll start getting you muscle tone back, while improving you balance coordination and overall sense of well-being.

It’s all About Attitude

I know what you thinking but before you just dismiss me let me again remind you that I’m 67 years old and have developed this routine over the last thirty years and I’m stronger now than I’ve ever been. I know for fact that if you listen to a few of the things that I’ve come up with, you’ll not only find working out enjoyable but you’ll look forward to doing it.

Conclusion

I’m not talking about building Hugh muscles, I’m talking about building muscle tone. I’m specifically talking to the Boomer Generation, people that are my age and want to enjoy the next ten or twenty years of our lives, by being able to do the things we want to do, and maintain our independence for as long as we can. If you feel like its time you started doing something for yourself, but are inherently lazy like me, than this will be perfect for you. You can have the best years of you life, and all it takes is making a choice, about what and who you going to believe.

Welcome

Hello, my name is Dave, and welcome to my smarterfittness website. Being a Baby Boomer I’ve seen the world change and as such I’ve had to change.

Open To Change

I have always believed that I was open to change. Imagine my surprise when it finally dawned on me that not only did I resist change I was opposed to it I was and still am, I’m defiant and a slow learner. But¬† to be inflexible , stiff and unbending was to die, to be loose, flexible, supple was to live.Over the last 35 years give or take, I’ve changed my beliefs on a number of fronts

It Starts With The Body

The first major change came with regards to Physical Fitness, over the years I’ve belonged to all types of Gyms and Health Clubs, across the country. I’ve seen the industry change and become Big Business, both with regard to the role of trainers and the wide range of equipment and services now available.

I want to dispel some myths about what it takes to get in shape and stay in shape, and how you can accomplish this.

What Are You Addicted To?

The Second major change was with my Addictive Personality, give me something that changes the way I feel and I’ll abuse it. It was hard to admit to being Alcoholic, mentally programed to self sabotage not only my life, but the lives of everyone who came near me.

Realizing that recovery is more the just “putting a plug in the jug”. That a “Lack of Power was my Dilemma” and it took me ten years to figure it out. I know why recovery rates are so low.

What Do You Believe?

The Third major change was with regards to my Belief Systems, and the realization that almost everything I believed in was wrong, based on my inability to accurately perceive the world.

The realization that I was a Narcissist, this anti-social disorder, infects everyone, with your own dense pain body. Key reason why people stay in addiction.

True Happiness

The fourth major Change came with regards to what it means to be happy. In the world of Form everything is dying and that you have to go to the world of Spirit to find happiness. We have a boundless supply of intellectual curiosity and creativeness.

Find your passion, be curious and create. Don’t die with your story inside you.

I want to show how we grow down not up,and bring back a feeling of destiny. this feeling has been lost in so many peoples lives and what must be recovered is a sense that there is a reason we are here. Self actualization is Gods Will for us, the only thing holding us back is a belief that we don’t deserve it.

Why do I want to help people?

I want to help others recognize and repair the damage of having dis-empowering beliefs, not only about the world but about ourselves.

I know this for sure, everyone resists change, if we don’t make staying in shape¬† an enjoyable experience, we simply will not do it over the long term. No matter what anyone says.

Addictions come in many forms and act to distract us from our feelings. The most basic being, that we are not smart enough or deserving enough.

Our beliefs define us and until we become aware of our thinking we can’t and wont change it.

I believe that their is a best selling book in everyone. Don’t die with your story still inside you.

The goal of this site

All the best,

Dave
